ANCIENT TEMPLE RENOVATION
Lord LakshmiNarasimha is the presiding deity of Sri Adi Shankaracharya Sharada LakshmiNarasimha Peetam. From the time of Sage Agastya, the divine Sannitya of Lord SriNarasimha has permeated the town of Hariharapura. As per history, Hariharapura is the holy land where Agastya Maharishi worshipped Lord LakshmiNrsimha. The LakshmiNrsimha Moorthi and Salagrama worshipped by the Sage Agastya are still being worshipped at the main temple in Hariharapura. Also, during later years Sri Adi Shankaracharya came to Hariharapura and consecrated the shrine of Sri Sharadambika with the installation of SriChakra. Since then, Goddess Sharadambika and Lord LakshmiNarasimha have been the chief deities of this Kshetra and also the Shankaracharya Dharmapeetam here. Presently, this ancient Sharada LakshmiNarasimha Swamy temple at Hariharapura is subject to massive reconstruction under the guidance of the Present Peetadhipathi, Srimad Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Swayamprakasha Sachidananda Saraswati MahaSwamiji.
Yantra Prathishta of Sri LakshmiNarasimha Swamy Shrine
The speciality of the upcoming temple is its Yantra Prathishta. The Yantra Prathishtaapanam for the Upcoming Temple commenced on the auspicious Akshaya Thrithiya day on 6th May 2011.
During the Yantra Prathishtapanam ceremony, MahaSwamiji consecrated a unique Yantra called the ‘LAKSHMINARASIMHA YANTRA RAJA VAJRA STHAMBA YANTRA’ over the installation of a powerful ‘KARYA SIDDHI GARUDA YANTRA’ and 108 LAKSHMINARASIMHA SALAGRAMAS. The LakshmiNarasimha Vajra Stambha Yantra is very unique and the first of its kind! As per MahaSwamiji’s directions, the main deity of Marakata LakshmiNrisimha Swamy (Moola Vigraha) will adorn the Bindhu Sthaanam of the magnificent Vajra Stambha Yantra, on completion of the Temple renovation. The LakshmiNarasimha Swamy Temple at Hariharapura thus becomes the only place where the Garuda Yantra, 108 LakshmiNarasimha Salagramas, LakshmiNarasimha Vajra Stambha and LakshmiNarasimha Moorthy are consecrated at a single site! According to Tantra Shastras, this kind of Yantra Pratishta is extremely powerful and would radiate the cosmic energy equivalent to 1 Lakh Deities! Shastras state that by this type of Prathishtapanam, as ‘Sarvagopi Stambhavasaha’, Lord Sri LakshmiNarasimha would reside in the temple as Poorna Chaitanyamoorthi and bless all devotees immensely.
Sri Sharadambika Shrine - consecrated by Jagadguru Adi Shankara
The Shrine of Goddess Sharadambika, consecrated by Sri Adi Shankaracharya stands at the right side as soon as one enters the Sharada LakshmiNarasimha Swamy temple. On 14th July 2016, MahaSwamiji installed the Vashinyadi Vak Devathas (Dhrastaras of Lalitha Sahasranama) described in the Lalitha Sahasranama, around the Garbhagruha of Sri Sharadambika. The 8 Vashinyadi Vakdevathas, each having distinct identities have been installed with their respective Yantras as per the dictates of the Tantra Shastra. Scriptures praise that the Vashinyadi Vakdevatas, being the predominant forms of Goddess Maha Saraswathi, will remove all impediments of speech (Vak Dosha) and bestow purity and perfection of speech (Vak Siddhi). Goddess Sharadambika Herself being the Jnyaana Swaroopam of Maha Saraswathi, and now being surrounded by the Vashinyadi Vakdevatas would bless devotees immensely with all knowledge and wisdom.
